Hadana is part of Halg Salmaan, a name that means 'Salmaan's throat'. Halg Salmaan is a V-shaped crack in the fringing reef that does not reach the shore, with a sandy bottom and hard coral walls to the north and south, full of caves and overhangs. It is a little-dived area.
Hadana means 'nursery', and the site gives shelter to juvenile fish. On the way there, you cross a sandbar where eagle rays hunt. The site marks the start of a small lagoon, home to packs of large black snappers and twinspot snappers. In the area, between the two Halg Salmaan sites, there is a lagoon that often attracts groups of spinner dolphins.
