Fringing reef around Green Island, just 27 km northeast of Cairns, with bommies and coral gardens at depths of 10 to 15 m accessible by boat in 7 minutes from the island. Blacktip reef sharks, turtles, moray eels, octopus and nudibranchs inhabit the reef in minimal currents, making it ideal for beginners, open-water courses and snorkelers.
