Right at the start of the dive there is a small cave, and passing through this "gate" leads straight to two large blocks rising from the bottom just in front of the exit. On the descents at Green Hole, barracudas and eagle rays often cross the diver's path.
As early as 2002, Green Hole was offered as a jeep or pickup trip from the Coral Garden hotel. In 2005, the site was listed among the special trips regularly offered by the Coral Garden dive base. In the Coral Garden area, April to October are usually considered very good months for diving, while January and February are seen as the least favourable.
