Maldives
The swing is made of steel on a concrete base, built to last, and, unlike other swings in the sea, it is submerged.
Shoals of fish and sharks surround the swing, and a video shows six sharks swimming close by. The area is frequented by nurse sharks. Previously, tourists were taken, for a fee, to a distant shark point; the swing was set up in a nearby spot where sharks naturally gather.
In the region, Gaafaru reef is known for shipwrecks and for tales of pirate ships that ran aground on it.
