Fringing reef around Fitzroy Island, less than 30 km southeast of Cairns, with hard and soft corals at depths of up to 15 m accessible directly from the beach. Epaulette sharks, turtles and rays are sighted regularly, making it a popular site for beginners and snorkelers on island day trips.
