Ekasdhoo, the island that gives the site its name, is uninhabited, covers 91.30 ha and is leased long-term for agriculture. Visibility tends to be best from December to April. In Shaviyani, conditions for diving tend to be excellent from November to May, with visibility above 30 m and few rainy days.
