Maldives
It is a passage into the atoll, where large fish such as yellow snappers, trevallies and eagle rays are seen. Hammerhead sharks also appear. In the region of Goidhoo, Fehendhoo and Fulhadhoo, the dry season, from December to April, tends to bring sunny days and little rain, good for snorkeling and diving. Since 5 June 2011, a 200 m strip starting from Mathifaruhuraa and its reef edge, to the west of Dhorukadu, has been a protected area, but it is not clear whether the thila lies inside the polygon. In the areas protected by the 2011 declaration, including that of Mathifaruhuraa, fishing of any kind is prohibited, except in the Maahuravalhi area.
