Brazil
At the left end of Praia da Fortaleza, the spot is home to a great diversity of ornamental fish, as well as starfish and sea turtles. In the past, Praia da Fortaleza served as a shelter for pirates and privateers, and later prospered with the transport of goods by canoe between the Port of Santos and Ubatuba. In the region, the water tends to be clearer in the months with less rain, but conditions change quickly with the wind, the tide and the current.
