Maldives
The site has a sandy lagoon and a large garden of varied corals, with coral blocks on the sand. Rays appear on the sand patches. Turtles and the orange banded pipefish are common, and there is plenty of macro life, which pleases photographers.
Addu Atoll, shaped like a heart, is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of the few places in the Maldives with manta rays all year round.
In Addu, from January to April the weather is usually at its best, but there are many more divers at the sites. From July to September the weather is also usually good, with fewer divers at the sites.
