Maldives
The ridge is covered by dense hard coral, with table corals, staghorn formations and large coral heads. Tiger sharks from the resident Tiger Harbour population pass through, and trevallies, barracudas and reef sharks cross the ridge often. Tiger sharks are usually seen year-round, and in the dry season the sea tends to be calm on the east coast.
