Maldives
It is a giri, the Dhivehi term for an underwater pillar that comes close to the surface. A macro site, it has glassfish, cleaning stations, sea slugs, crustaceans, scorpionfish, shrimp and flatworms, and in open water there are schools of fusiliers, snappers and juveniles. Reef sharks, eagle rays and big schools patrol the slope, while turtles and morays stay among the coral blocks. In Faafu Atoll, the good season usually runs from October to March, and the monsoon usually falls from around April to November.
