Egypt
The site lies at the tip of the coral reef that borders Nabq Bay, exactly where that reef ends. Around this tip, marine life is scarce.
The corals are very damaged, and only a few rare finger corals remain in the sheltered parts of the reef. Even so, the reef attracts many fish, such as butterflyfish, surgeonfish and bannerfish. The species listed for the site include the Red Sea raccoon butterflyfish, the threadfin butterflyfish, the sohal surgeonfish and the yellowtail surgeonfish. With luck, the emperor angelfish and the yellowbar angelfish also show up.
In the Sharm el-Sheikh region, May, June, September, October and November tend to be the most recommended months for snorkeling, when the sea is between 25 and 27 °C and the air is warm without being too hot.
