Maldives
The site is rich in resident reef fish, such as snapper, fusiliers, grouper, lobsters, morays and turtles, and also has eagle rays, sharks and sometimes manta rays. There are large coral blocks and small caves. On the reefs around Baarah, a hawksbill turtle perched on a rocky outcrop, shoals of snapper intermingled with surgeonfish and a marbled ray over the sandy bottom have been seen. On another dive in the area, a turtle perched on a rocky outcrop accompanied the group.
