Brazil
It is said that, on an expedition from Recife to Fernando de Noronha in 2007, a storm broke the main mast of the sailboat Aussteiger, which drifted for two and a half days until the fishing boat Mucuripe III towed her to Noronha. In another version, after being abandoned at a yacht club, the hull was taken empty out to the open sea and sunk as an artificial reef.
The hull lies heeled over on her port side, with the cabin door open. The bracket and the anchor are still on the bow, but the mast, engine, rudder and bulwarks were removed before the tow. The hull is already heavily colonized. Sunk in 2016, she has no sun coral, unlike other artificial wrecks in the region that were sunk later, and one hypothesis is that currents influence the appearance of sun coral.
In the region, diving is usually best from September to May, and in June, July and August the rains usually make the sea rough.
