Maldives
It is the outer barrier reef of Amingiri, facing the open ocean and lying between two channels, and it descends in steps into the deep blue. Because it faces the ocean, it attracts large animals such as reef sharks and eagle rays, and, with luck, manta rays in season. In the region, on the west side of the atolls, December to April is usually given as a good time to encounter manta rays.
