Ras Abu Soma, Red Sea, Egypt
Abu Soma Garden is the southern part of the Ras Abu Soma reef, a reef of about 2 km that slopes gently down from the coast. A dive here is often combined with one at neighbouring Ras Abu Soma. The coral garden is also a good place for snorkeling.
The large coral garden has many kinds of coral and gathers the typical reef fish of the Red Sea, such as clownfish, cornetfish, yellowfin goatfish, balloon fish and bluespotted stingray. There are many schools of fish and many small fish, while morays, including giant morays, and octopuses hide among the corals. Eagle rays or barracudas sometimes pass by, and crocodile fish turn up on the sandy patches.
