The 72 m descent to the lake at Abismo Anhumas is made by an electric system, takes a few minutes and ends on a floating platform; before the dive there is a boat ride around the chamber. The lake holds about 24,000 m³ and is up to 80 m deep, with 20 large submerged stalagmites, the largest of them 20 m tall.
The dive passes among dozens of submerged limestone cones, some 19 m high, which form a kind of stone forest. Around noon, the sun shines through the opening and lights the underwater speleothems with a blue glow.
